Battle of the Backseat Tournament: Chapter Two

Building on the success of last year’s Battle of the Backseat Tournament: Opening Chapter (€400 prize), which featured Owen's victory over Lemmy in a thrilling final cast live by The Survivalist, we've refined the format to make it more streamlined by limiting the number of players. This year, we're also proud to present six unique, handcrafted maps created exclusively for us by Pwner of Souls, the creator of Empire Craft Mod.
Lower ELO players will have the unique opportunity to be paired with a highly skilled High ELO player, known as the Backseater. These Backseaters will provide guidance in voice channels throughout all matches, working together with their partners to aim for a spot in the Grand Final.
CALENDAR 📅
- Public Application: 22-29 November 2024
- Team formation announcement: Monday, 2 December 2024
- Tournament: 2 December - 8 January 2025 (one match per week)
FORMAT & PARTECIPANTS 🧑🤝🧑
- 1v1 hybrid, Double Elimination.
- Rounds are BO3, Semifinals and Finals are BO5.
- 16 participants, consisting of 8 Playing Players paired with 8 Backseaters (Coaches).
REWARDS 🏆
- An initial €265 prize pool, along with contribution fees, Twitch earnings, and donations, will be equally divided between Players and Backseaters as follows: 1st Place: 65%, 2nd Place: 25%, 3rd Place: 15%.
- ALL games will be cast on the Hermetica Twitch channel by our top casters, as well as on other participants' channels, and will be published on the Hermetica YouTube channel, where they will stand forever for the glory of time.
